特别是上周曼联与狼队在主场1-1战平的比赛让俱乐部高层感到极为不满。尽管在四天前，曼联凭借四后卫阵型战胜了纽卡斯尔，但阿莫林仍然选择恢复他惯用的3-4-2-1阵型来应对这支排名垫底的队伍。而在与曼联的对决之前，狼队在18场比赛中仅收获2分，阿莫林执教下的曼联近11场比赛仅拿下3场胜利，战绩让人沮丧。

阿莫林对青训小将哈里·阿玛斯和奥比·马丁的批评同样引发了俱乐部管理层的不满。他曾提到目前租借在谢周三的阿玛斯颇为挣扎，并且指出18岁的马丁并非U21队的主力球员。阿莫林甚至加倍强调自己的言辞，称曼联青训营内部存在一种特权感的文化。此外，他在去年11月份也提到，每当多尔古拿球时，大家能够感受到一种紧张的氛围。

最终，阿莫林情绪上的失控变得无可忽视，俱乐部最终决定解除他的职务，让他离开了这一执教岗位。
